As a good parent, taking your children on different trips is always a goal you work your best to achieve. This is because through visiting several places, children will get to learn more about what is happening in the world. It is also a good way of breaking the monotony for both you and your children. One such place to go and experience the different features of the world is the California west coast. California has several things that make it fantastic for a vacation with your children. In planning your vacation to the west coast you need to prepare well. You also need to prepare your kids so that they can learn more from the trip. Some of the ways in which you can ensure good preparation of your children for the trip include the following.

1.Deciding where to go in California

There are many cities located in the west coast. For the trip to be successful you need to decide on the most appropriate city for you and your family. You need to decide on specific cities and inform your children on what they can expect to see and do. Check out the average prices of eating, hotels and attractions in each of the cities on your wish list, and factor that into planning. Some cities are definitely more expensive than others, so if you’ve got a lot of kids in tow, that may not be ideal.

2. Selecting the most appropriate gear for the kids

Stocking up on the right clothes, accessories and more for both you and your kids is essential before any big vacation. That means considering kids favorite styles and the weather expected at your destination. Kids Vans shoes are a great accessory to keep your kids stylish, comfortable and excited about the trip. It’s a brand that will definitely help them harness their inner Cali cool!

3. Teaching the kids about the history of California

Nothing makes a trip more memorable than getting your kids involved in learning about its history. California has a vibrant and exciting history, despite being one of the newer states in the United States. Get your kids excited about the upcoming adventure by teaching them about the various national parks, geographical oddities and gold rush history of California. The best part is that your kids will keep their minds and curiosities sharp, even as school is winding down. Plus, when the trip is over, you can continue the learning and keep their interests peaked.

California has so many recreational facilities, by taking your children there for a vacation you will achieve a lot. It will help the children in understand California more which will help them in expanding there knowledge. As a parent taking your children to vacations is a wise idea because it will help you in showing the necessary love to your children. In case you are accompanied by your partner, you’re guaranteed to find a few places to escape for a little rekindling of the romance as well. California has it all for every member of the family!

Let’s say you’re looking for a little adventure, beach-style. Something out of the ordinary, but still featuring enough development to meet minimal needs. Here’s a suggestion: block out some free time and start searching through some of the magnificent Virgin Gorda villa rentals.

Located in the British Virgin Islands, “The Fat Virgin” is said to have gotten its name from Christopher Columbus, who noted that the island looks like a fat woman lying on her side. Within her ocean gates lies a true adventurer’s paradise.

Dive The Shipwrecked RMS Rhone

Excellent diving options are plentiful around Virgin Gorda, with transparent waters and a wide variety of colorful sea life. One of the best local sites is the shipwrecked RMS Rhone, which went down off the coast during a hurricane in the 1860s.

Both for historical interest and teeming marine life, this is considered one the best wreck dives worldwide. And whether you’re an experienced or novice diver, this shipwreck welcomes you.

Kayak Beach Tour

Take a different view of the coast by paddling from beach to beach in a kayak. You’ll wade through light to medium surf while discovering one stunning beach after another separated by stunning granite sections that have been there for centuries. Speaking of those big rocks…

Baths & Devil’s Bay Beach

This collection of three-storey high boulders is striking enough on its own, but adds additional appeal by encompassing an enchanted maze of tide pools and heavenly grottoes just waiting to be explored. A trail leads through the pools and caves to Devil’s Bay Beach, but you’ll want to avoid the mid-day crowds that come with the small cruise ships that dock here. The best time to go is either between 8:00 and 10:00 am or 3:00 and 5:00pm.

Hike Up To Gorda Peak

Once you dry off, head to North Sound Road and hike one of its connected trails up beyond 1300 feet to Gorda Peak. Its aerial platform is the best spot to take in the whole island spectrum of beaches, coves and boulders. It’s a fairly friendly climb, easy for anyone in at least average condition (just make sure you bring water).

Credit: Peter Pawlowski

Become A True Sailor

With its protected inland seas, the British Virgin Islands are perfect for learning and practicing sailing techniques. Those with a basic background can really elevate their skills with help from local sailing schools, which offer excellent classes for absolute beginners as well.

Whether you’re visiting New York City for the first time or have just moved to this amazing location, you will find there are a ton of things to do. What you don’t want to happen is to fall victim to tourist traps, which are expensive and generally not worth your time. Instead, you will want to capture the true essence of New York and really experience the culture in this unique city. Here are the best hipster hangouts to take it all in.
169 Bar

The outside of this place makes it look like a bar you probably wouldn’t want to go into, but it’s actually a fantastic spot in the lower east side. It gets packed during the weekends, so make sure you’re not claustrophobic when visiting. The decor is eccentric with a lot of different themes going on and the bar draws in a crowd of all different types of people. The happy hour features $5 drinks, which is great in this city. They have fresh oysters featured daily and a lot of music that you can enjoy listening or dancing to. The unique bar food can keep you full after a long day or night of drinking at this fun dive bar.

Beatrice Inn

If you want to go to one of the best bars and restaurants that hipsters love, this is it. It’s a gorgeous space that has a lot of oil paintings and antique furniture along with candle lights and dark lighting fixtures. It’s recommended to make reservations for dinner, especially on the weekends. If you want to party here, you will have to be on the guest list, which can be very difficult to get on. The atmosphere is unique, classy and upscale. This isn’t a place where you will see college kids throwing up all over the place, just people looking to have a good time.

Roberta’s

Located in Brooklyn, Roberta’s is a fun restaurant that is owned by former musicians. When you walk in you will hear loud music and a lot of chatter. You will also smell all the delicious ingredients of brick oven pizza wafting through the restaurant. They feature craft beers that make this place a great option if you want to experience Brooklyn at its best.

Glasslands Gallery

This club is located in Brooklyn and is truly a great place to go if you want to dance, have a good time and enjoy gorgeous views of the city. The stage is constantly taken by local performers that have cult followings. The clouds behind the stage make this look like another world, which is what a lot of New Yorkers like. You can bring a huge group here and enjoy a fun night out listening to bands that are part of the big music scene in Brooklyn. Throughout the nights you can see a lot of different bands and enjoy some great drinks.

Where to Stay

New York hotels are dotted all over the city and thanks to its excellent infrastructure you’ll have no trouble hopping a metro or bus to find the venues above. If you want to keep it strictly hipster look out for places in Brooklyn and live it up with a bagel and coffee in the morning like every self-styled scenester does. Manhattan is a little pricier but you can still find some decent deals if you scout around in advance of time.

Whether you’re in the mood to go and eat oysters or you want to listen to live bands, there are tons of hipster places to visit in New York City. You will find that once you get away from the tourist heavy areas, you are able to see more of NYC than you ever thought possible. There are a lot of great people you can meet along with fun times to be had!

A trip to Barbados is a beach lover’s dream, with powdery white sand and crystal clear seas spreading out into the horizon. It’s easy to see why those in need of a vacation start obsessively looking for villas to rent in Barbados after seeing a few photos.

But eventually, we all tend to want a little adventure in our lives. Consider researching a few activities before you get there, just so you don’t get bored lying on the lovely shores. Thankfully, Barbados is home to a number of great adventures for the wanna-be action hero inside all of us. Here are a few examples.

Island Safari

There are many ways to see Barbados, but rolling through on a safari rigged Land Rover should certainly appeal to hearty adventure seekers. Using on and off-road paths, you’ll explore some of the island’s top gullies and ocean views, and also experience some the hidden secrets that are otherwise unreachable.

Credit: Carolyn Davis

This trip allows for terrific photo opportunities, and the chance to see parts of Barbados as the original settlers might have seen them all those years ago. So don’t forget your camera!

Shipwreck Diving

Nicknamed “The Shipwreck Capital of the Caribbean”, Barbados offers spectacular dives down to sunken ships off the island’s coast. These vessels have now become glorious underwater colonies of bright colorful sea life, making for ideal exploring in clear, warm waters.

Dozens of resorts and local dive shops offer trips and certification, so you’ll have several options to choose from. While you’re at it, be sure to check out some of the magnificent natural reefs as well.

Zipline Through The Treetops

You can’t beat these thrilling bird’s eye views, flying over the treetop canopy at high speeds. Anywhere you do it, ziplining is nearly always great fun, and here in Barbados you get beautiful imagery to boot.

Credit: Amanda Etches

Aerial Trek is a well known local service – they’ve been operating since 2007, and offer a course of eight platforms at Walkes Spring Plantation, Jack-In-The-Box Gully. Their highest platform is over 100 feet high, and the longest ride runs over 300 feet in length.

Go Cave Exploring

This is a very popular activity among Barbados visitors, with good reason. The island boasts a splendid collection of natural caves just waiting to be explored, from Coles Cave to the spectacular Harrison’s Cave and its surrounding gullies.

Hike down into this unique environment and you’ll gain a new appreciation for the natural beauty that lies beyond its lovely beaches. Just make sure to have some better footwear than flip-flops or sandals.

All this and we haven’t even mentioned any of the amazing casinos that line the strip there, with their massive array of different games and luxury hotels you can see why casinos such as the Bellagio are so famous.
But there are more than just the casinos to do in Vegas, with hundreds of amazing restaurants and bars also in the city you can always find something to do at night after a long day of lying by your pool or playing in one of the casinos. So why not check it out for yourself and see if it is for you.

Sooner or later, we’ve all had the feeling. The stress of everyday has reached a boiling point. That’s it – I’m going to Jamaica.

So you buy a ticket, and you’re browsing through photos of all the fabulous beach villas for rent in Jamaica. But what will you do once you get there? Here’s a list to get you started, so you don’t end up sitting on a beach with mai tai in hand for a whole week (as enticing as that may sound at first).

1. Dunn’s River Falls & Park

Located in Ocho Rios on Jamaica’s northern shore, this natural wonder is not to be missed. Magnificent waterfalls cascade down onto a lovely beach below, making this one of the loveliest spots on the island. Here is a perfect example of why the native Arawaks called it “Xayamaca” – land of rivers and springs.

For a small fee, guided climbs up the falls are available. The climb itself isn’t terribly difficult, though it is slippery. And, of course, keep in mind that you’ll get wet.

2. Swim With The Dolphins

While in Ocho Rios, head over to Dolphin Cove to have a swim with these graceful creatures. This natural cove is surrounded by 5 acres of tropical rain forest, a perfect setting for this unforgettable experience.

Entrance to the Dolphin Cove includes unlimited access to a number of other activities such as glass-bottom kayak rides and snorkeling with stingrays.

3. Take A Swing

Jamaica is a true golfer’s paradise, with some of the most beautiful championship courses found anywhere. A big part of the game’s appeal lies in the quality of its natural surroundings, and Jamaica’s emerald green fields roll gently into white sandy coves and jeweled blue seas in the distance.

Green fees will naturally range depending on location and time of year, so check online for details if there’s one in particular that strikes your fancy. Many of the island’s best courses are clustered around the Montego Bay area, with White Witch Of Rose Hall and the challenging Tryall Club among the favorites. Other popular courses include Half Moon and the Cinnamon Hill Golf Club.

4. Blue Mountains National Park

The glorious Blue Mountains shoot up along Jamaica’s eastern coast, offering dramatic scenery and the chance to see up close and personal where the famous Blue Mountain Coffee actually comes from.

In addition to breathtaking views, this is a good place to get in some serious exercise. The range’s peak rises to 7,402 feet, offering a challenging climb for those into camping and hiking. Several local tour companies can assist with planning if you’re interested in making this tough climb.

5. Hit The Beach

How would you like your beach? There’s something for every taste on this island, from white sands to black, from secluded coves to bustling party zones.

If you’re looking for some private natural beauty, head for Silver Sands in Falmouth, northern Jamaica. You can also try Long Bay Beach in Portland, on the east coast.

Those looking to party and people-watch, on the other hand, can head straight to Seven-Mile Beach in Negril. This is the big scene, with live music and jerk grills and endless water sport options.

Finally, Boston Beach in Portland is a small cove with excellent surfing, and this area is also home to the country’s best jerk cuisine.

Costa Rica… Coffee… Cloud Forests… yes this interview has it all. We were lucky enough to grab a chat with Erica Kuschel of the super blog Over Yonderlust. We’ve been big fans for a while now and are stoked to have them on our site. Today they tell us about their 7 weeks in the land of the coffee bean.

Could you briefly introduce yourself, your site and your experience travelling in Costa Rica?

My name is Erica Kuschel and I’m half of the team at Over Yonderlust. We are tattooed, childhood sweethearts that have been traveling the world for the past 2 years. While I like to look at the world through my lens, my hubby likes to bring his skateboard on his travels and looks for adventure.

During September and October of 2011 we got to spend about 7 weeks in and around Costa Rica. We got to experience everything from an apartment rental in a small fishing village to a hostel in the cloud forests while taking organic coffee co-op tours. I couldn’t have asked for more variety!

Travel Costa Rica: Costa Rica Cloud Forest

What made you choose this country and what were your first impressions?

This is going to sound a bit silly but it all started with my friends in high school. The marine biology class took a class trip to Costa Rica and I decided that a having a car was more important to me. For the next 15 years their stories mainly consisted of, “When we were in Costa Rica…”

It was nothing like I thought it would be to be honest. With the internet and globalization I’m sure it was much more “Costa Rica-y” when they went but I was surprised with how many big chains there were. And WOW was it pricey for Central America.

How much money can someone travel around Costa Rica for? What are the greatest expenses? What things are relatively cheap?

I think that it is possible to stay within the backpacker budget of $1000/per person relatively easy. For us, traveling as a duo really had its advantages. We got an apartment in off season for $450/month (everything included). The most expensive thing had to be the groceries. Water was exorbitantly expensive at times. With all the hike, bike, and nature around it is really easy to find cheap or free activities to do if you don’t mind doing a bit of exploring.

What is the local cuisine like? Did you find yourself trying new things or pining for the familiars of home?

While I know that many people love Costa Rican food I found it to be rather similar to the rest of Central America – beans, meat, rice. For breakfast you can have gallo pinto which is rice and beans mixed together. I did happen to have some of the best ceviche of my trip from a little stall on the beach though. Wooooo! It makes me miss it!

Oh, and the coffee. YUM! The interesting thing is that a good majority of the delicious coffee isn’t even kept within the country so you are hard pressed to find the good stuff unless you head to the source and pay top dollar.

What cultural activities and events would you suggest everyone seeing or taking part in while travelling in Costa Rica and why?

There is so much to see and do! One of our favorite experiences was heading up into the mountains and into the cloud forests – land of the Arabica coffee beans. We got to head out to a plantation, and meet Victor, a local farmer. Not only could we see the love for his land and his work but we were also invited into his house for a cup of “farmers blend” that his wife fresh brewed and served to us. It really made me consider where I buy my coffee from in the States. I tend to be more socially aware now.

Travel Costa Rica: Coffee Cloud Forest

What is your favourite thing about travelling this country? What is your least favourite thing?

The whole place is just stunning! When you look out your window you can see so many different types of landscapes. It really is magical.

Our least favorite thing is that the public transportation system is horrible. There are some simple routes that should be A->B but end up taking you A->T->B adding upwards to 12 hours. They just don’t have the paved roads and infrastructure for some of the routes.

What things do you focus on most when you blog about this country? Why do you choose these things?

I like to really focus on experiential pieces. While some people do like technical writing about places, I like to talk about our experiences and the people we meet. I think you can learn so much about a culture from things like that. Details add to a more complete picture.

Travel Costa Rica: Caribbean Side

What’s one thing you can’t travel around Costa Rica without?

Make sure to pack rain gear. Costa Rica is in some sort of rainy season about 7 ½ months of the year so you are likely to catch a time when it is raining cats and dogs. It also will keep your clothes from getting wet in a climate that will take days to dry. Also, Costa Rica has microclimates. The weather can change rapidly when traveling around.

What kind of response have you had to your blogs about Costa Rica? What post had the most interest?

The response has been mainly a positive one. Our most popular post by far has to be when we went to see how chocolate was made in Puerto Viejo. Most people don’t realize that chocolate starts out as a very strange looking fruit.

If you could think of one thing you wished someone told you before you started travelling in Costa Rica what would it be?

Plan on getting stuck. There is so much to see and do that you will need much more time than you think to make your way through Costa Rica. We thought we would only need a month and left almost 2 months in!

Thanks Erica and Shaun.

Today TraveLinkSites is honing in on Colorado with Chad of The Road Dog Blog. A real lover of the great outdoors, Chad blogs about his travels throughout the U.S. His interview has advice on what this state has to offer and gives us some great photos too.

1. Could you briefly introduce yourself, your site and your experience travelling in Colorado?

Hello. My name’s Chad. I’ve lived in Pennsylvania most of my life, but have visited 45 U.S. states, much of Canada, Europe, and Mexico so far. Hiking and outdoor destinations have always been high on my list of places to visit, but I have pretty broad interests and I think that’s reflected in my travel site – The Road Dog Blog. On my site you’ll find lots of information and photos of the outdoors, but post topics range from music festivals to museums. Lately, many about Colorado. Having a love of mountains and nature, I’ve always been drawn to Colorado. I first visited the state on a cross-country trip in 1997. I returned in 1999 and 2001 and decided to make it my home base as of January 2013.

2. What made you choose this state and what were your first impressions?

I always say Colorado has just about everything but an ocean. It has towering mountains, lakes, prairies, desert landscapes, and a clean modern city in Denver. I also chose Colorado because I think it’s a great base of operations for exploring the rest of the American West. Having a few family members and friends here from Pennsylvania doesn’t hurt either. I remember my first impressions of the “Rocky Mountain State” vividly. We entered into Colorado from Kansas on our way to our next stop, the Grand Canyon. As soon as we crossed the state border, I immediately started scanning the horizon for the Rockies. As we drove farther and farther into Colorado, through flat prairies, without any mountains in sight, I became disappointed. I assumed my idea of what the state looked like was an exaggerated one. Upon reaching Denver, I was no longer disappointed! Seeing the city, snowy peaks of the 14ers (Colorado peaks over 14,000 ft. high) in the background, my vision of Colorado was restored.

3. How much money can someone travel around Colorado for? What are the greatest expenses? What things are relatively cheap?

Prices for most things are on par with the rest of the U.S.. Colorado is definitely not an “off-the-beaten-path” destination and some things, like lodging, can be expensive in places. The good news is there are cheap ways to travel and stay here if you look hard enough. I’ve found one place, in the pretty mountain town of Estes Park, that provides food and lodging in exchange for volunteer work. Gasoline is about 20% cheaper here than in big cities like New York or LA.

Travel Colorado: Estes Park

What is the local cuisine like? Did you find yourself trying new things or pining for the familiars of home?

The food in Colorado is similar to the rest of the U.S., in that you can find just about anything from Thai to French to American burgers and steaks. I did notice more Mexican food and less Italian than on the East Coast. One Colorado delicacy, that I must admit I haven’t tried yet, is Rocky Mountain Oysters. Despite being called oysters, they have nothing to do with seafood. Rocky Mountain Oysters are fried bull testicles. They’re served at restaurants and sporting events.

Travel Colorado: Coyote Ridge

What would you suggest everyone do while visiting Colorado and why?

If you’re a snowboarder or skier, of course I suggest you do that while in Colorado. The state has a long snow season, lots of ski resorts, and great powder (or so I hear, I’m not a skier, but I have to mention it. It’s Colorado!). A visit to the state wouldn’t be complete without a visit to Rocky Mountain National Park either. It has beautiful postcard mountain scenery and there’s a great chance you’ll see elk and deer and if you’re lucky maybe a moose, bear, or mountain lion. For those who aren’t the outdoor types, I’d suggest grabbing a craft beer in one of Colorado’s nearly 2,000 breweries. My favorite beer so far, Breckenridge Vanilla Porter!

Travel Colorado: Sprague Lake RMNP

What is your favourite thing about travelling around Colorado? What is your least favourite thing?

The mountain scenery everywhere is my favorite thing about the state. Sometimes it’s hard to keep your eyes on the road while driving, the views are so incredible. It’s also great that there are so many sunny days here. It gets over 300 days of sunshine a year (that’s what a voice announcement on the airport train said anyway). In the last month there’s been only a few cloudy days, and that’s when it’s snowed. A sunny January is a welcome change from the northeast U.S. where it’s often cloudy and dreary in winter. As far as my least favorite thing, I don’t have too much to complain about. I have said I wish there was a better network of public transportation.

Travel Colorado: near Loveland

What things do you focus on most when you blog about Colorado? Why do you choose these things?

I’ve been focusing on the outdoors and hiking. I could probably run an entire blog writing only posts about Rocky Mountain National Park. Hiking is one of my favorite things to do and there are seemingly endless trails and parks to explore in Colorado.

Travel Colorado: Benson Sculpture Garden

What’s one thing you can’t travel around Colorado without?

I’d say you pretty much need a car. As I mentioned earlier, the public transportation system here isn’t great. You can get along ok in Denver without a vehicle, but if you want to really explore the state, especially the national parks and natural areas, you’ll need a car. Colorado is pretty big (bigger than the entire U.K.) and things are spread out.

Today we have a short but sweet interview from the folks behind SouthWestCompass.com. Covering such sought after places as California, Nevada and New Mexico, their blog is a fountain of knowledge on the American SouthWest.

1. Could you briefly introduce yourself, your site and your experience travelling in the American Southwest?

We met in Los Angeles and lived there before moving to New Mexico. The transition emphasized the diversity of the Southwest and piqued our curiosity to explore further. There is a dearth of online information on the Southwest – everything is word of mouth. We aspire to fill the informational void.

Travel North America: Taos Pueblo

2. What made you choose this part of the country and what were your first impressions?

The natural beauty was a big draw for us. Our first impressions were of the unique architecture, the extensive history (Santa Fe is more than 400 years old), and the influence of both Spanish and Pueblo cultures.

3. How much money can someone travel around the American Southwest for? What are the greatest expenses? What things are relatively cheap?

It depends on your style and preferences. There are many campsites and budget-friendly national parks, but there are also high-end spa retreats and plenty in-between.

Gas and car rental are probably the biggest expenses. Due to the vast driving distances, traveling without a car is impractical. For instance, to drive from the northern border to the southern border of New Mexico takes seven hours! Yes, really.

4. What is the local cuisine like?

The American Southwest encompasses several different regional and ethnic cuisines. New Mexico is renowned for its green chile peppers, which are added to almost every dish – they even slip them into martinis – and there’s an entire dining trail devoted to green chile cheeseburgers.

Some other regional favorites include the Sonoran dog – Arizona’s take on the hot dog. Also, Tex Mex is available throughout the region.

Travel North America: Austin food truck find

5. What cultural activities and events would you suggest everyone seeing or taking part in while travelling in the American Southwest and why?

We’d recommend seeing traditional Pueblo dances (don’t bring a camera), the Santa Fe Opera, and the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta in New Mexico. In Southern California, catch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and a film at one of the historic movie palaces. For Nevada, take one of the architectural tours down into the Hoover Dam. You can’t visit Texas without seeing the Alamo.

6. What is your favourite thing about travelling this country? What is your least favourite thing?

Our favourite things are the wide, open spaces and the jaw-dropping natural beauty. The driving time between destinations can be frustrating.

7. What things do you focus on most when you blog about the American Southwest? Why do you choose these things?

We really try to be all-encompassing and to include information about the area’s culture, cuisine, history and attractions.

Travel North America: Dead horse Mesa Utah

8. What’s one thing you can’t travel around the American Southwest without?

Sunscreen

9. What kind of response have you had to your blogs about the American Southwest? What post had the most interest?

We have a section devoted to great drives, which draws in a lot of readers.

10. If you could think of one thing you wished someone told you before you started travelling in the American Southwest what would it be?

Always gas up your car because you may not have another chance for miles, especially if you are crossing Native American land. Watch for rattlesnakes, especially in arroyos (dry creek beds).

Thanks guys!

Tourists from across the world visit Hawaii for the purpose of finding adventure and serenity. Although it may sound impossible for one location to offer both adventure and serenity, Hawaii does that and so much more.

The temperature is warm year-round, which means there is always something fun to do for everyone. Whether you prefer sunbathing, hiking, nightlife, surfing, or other activities, Hawaii is a vacation ecstasy. It doesn’t matter if you are traveling alone, traveling with a group, or it’s a family vacation, this is one destination that can please everyone.

Golf Anyone?

The tropical climate and the championship courses make Hawaii golf a favorite vacation pastime for many tourists. There are over 70 golf courses to choose from in Hawaii, and each has a very unique layout. In fact, some have stunning seaside water hazards and others have greens lined with volcanic rough; all the courses offer spectacular scenery as you enjoy your game. This could be dad’s ideal vacation day.

Hawaii is so renowned for its golf courses that many people plan their vacations around playing the game. Those that are looking for ways to save on their game may choose to purchase special golf packages. Choosing late golf tee times is another way to save money. In many instances these savings can be substantial. But of course, not everyone enjoys golf. Some people would rather spend their time being pampered.

Spa Treatments

If dad enjoys golf then mom is sure to enjoy a day at the spa. Besides the usual luxury spa treatments you’ll find most of the spas in Hawaii also include quality fitness facilities and equipment. You get the best of it all, you can work out and you can be pampered in the most luxurious way possible. Plus, it all happens in Hawaii!

Hiking Trails

While mom and dad are playing golf and being pampered, what are the kids going to do? They can go hiking! Hiking in Hawaii is a totally new experience. Hawaii is a fabulous place to hike; the scenery there is breathtaking.

You can choose from a short, half-mile loop at Akaka Falls, which is a 442-foot waterfall or a challenging 3.5-mile hike through wet, muddy swampland. The payoff is you will have lots of opportunities to bird-watch and to see unique plant life. There are also plenty of other hiking options available.

Nightlife in Hawaii

Hawaii nightlife can be exciting. If you prefer a Vegas-style atmosphere you will like Level 4, located on Waikiki. The large comfortable lounge consists of tree bars and an open dance floor, a stage, and a garden atrium.

Honolulu’s claim to nightlife fame is Zanzabar. This club is frequented by locals and tourists alike. It can hold up to 1000 people. It has two dance floors and a VIP room. In addition to Zanzabar Honolulu is also home to Jazz Minds, which serves food along with a mix of live music six nights a week.

Hawaii really does have something for everyone. The sun worshippers can spend their days on the beach. Those that want to surf can, and those that enjoy hiking can do that. Of course, there’s golfing, spas, and the nightlife. But the truth is, that’s only the beginning, Hawaii has much, much more to offer.
